Official announcement and registration conditions of the Short Week Film Festival. The show will be held on the days the14th, 15th and 16th of May 2008 at the Mucho Más Mayo Festival. The Youth Council of Cartagena and Ala Deriva Films have been the organizers of The Short Week Film Festival for the third consecutive year. The purpose of the Short Week Film Festival is to show the work of Carthaginians producers as well as other producers from other parts of Spain, and create a platform to discuss film at local and national level. The entire Film festival will be held outdoors and has a non-competitive character. Last year it was held in San Francisco Square (Cartagena), where the directors of the selected short movies were invited to present there work. Last year the festival recieved 180 short movies and 20 of those were selected to be shown at the Short Week Film Festival. This year the festival will be celebrated in three projection sessions, one of them will be held in the Virgen de la Caridad Neighbourhood which will host part of the Mucho Mas Mayo Festival. The 15th of March will be the deadline for entry. Please check the registration conditions and the inscription form. Held on the 14th, 15th and 16th of MAY 2008 Producers must specify which category they wish to be entered into. The categories are as follows: The show of local directors. The show of provincial directors. The open show. All productions presented must follow these rules: ·The theme of the short movies that can participate is unrestricted: fiction, animation, documentary or video creation. ·The realization date of the short movie that is to participate must be after the 1st of January 2007. ·The short movies must be presented in digital format (DVD). ·The language of the short movie must be in Spanish, however original versions produced in other languages will be accepted as long as they contain Spanish sub-titles. ·The maximum length of short movie is to be 20 minutes. ·Movies presented at the previous Short Week Film Festivals may not participate. ·The producers/directors of the selected short movies to be screened will recieve 60 Euros reward. ·The received short movies will not be returned; they will become part of the Short Week Film Festival’s archive.

Aspects that the directors of the selected movies should be aware of: Once the selection process is over, the selected short movie producers will be required to send further information, including: ·Digital picture of the cover ·Informative material of the movie .Biography, filmography and digital photography of the director. Failiure to submit this information within 15 days will result in the selected producers exclusion from the film festival. By entering your short film into the Short Week Film Festival you indicate that you have read/understood/agreed to the terms and conditions detailed. The directors will have the choice to come to present their films, the facilities for that are: Acomodation: All the directors that live further than 200 km away from Cartagena will be provided with two nights acomadation on the dates of the show. This invitation is only open to representatives and a single accompanying person. Support for transport: Producers or Representatives that live more than 30 km away will recieve 20 euros compensation Producers or Representatives that live more than more than 200 km away will receive 150 euros compensation. On Friday the 16th of May 2008 there would be a lunch where all the movie directors and their companions will be invited. This could be the ideal platform for discussing local and national film production. Selection Comitee: The Selection Committee will be named by the organization and their decision will be final and cannot be reversed. The short movies selected will be shown at the Short Week Film Festival of Cartagena that will be held during May. Click here to download the registration form. |
